Read from the papers that a motorcyclist was killed in an accident on the PIE near the Toh Guan Exit...apparently a jaywalker had dashed across the expressway...and Car A had to apply its emergency brakes to avoid this jaywalker. A motorcyclist travelling behind Car A couldn't brake in time and hit Car A.
A lorry behind then ran over this motorcyclist. The jaywalker escaped with scratches whilst the motorcyclist died.
Many times, when one is driving, one would try and avoid an object that is suddenly in one's path, without thinking that it may cause disastrous results for others. I think this is the case here too....the one responsible...the jaywalker escaped with scratches only. The jaywalker has been arrested for his rash act.
