Yesterday, at Holland Village's Coffee Club, we ordered dessert and cake. The waiter came to place the cutlery on our table. When he put down the fork for A and O, A commented that her fork was smaller than O's. At first, we thought that perhaps there were not enough dessert forks. Then when the waiter placed the forks for GM and me, we realised that he had given to both A and me the smaller forks, whilst he had given the men the bigger forks!
It dawned to us that he assumed that he had noticed that there were normal forks and smaller dessert forks and had assumed that the smaller forks were for ladies whilst the bigger forks were for the men!
Well, we said kudos to this waiter for initiative! But boo to his supervisor for not giving him sufficient training!
