The sun has been working OT this few weeks and all of us feel so burnt...it seems that my brains were also fried...that I was willing to attempt the outdoors this weekend...
SL suggested going to Sentosa this Saturday...being the lazy girl that I am, I suggested going East Coast Park instead since I definitely do not look forward to taking bus to Harbourfront and then changing to the Sentosa Express which is something like the LRT at Bukit Panjang (have not taken the LRT at Punggol, so can't comment).
As we were just looking forward to some R&R, we were not too keen to exert ourselves going rollerblading or cycling...however, this gave me nothing much to look forward to....when the idea of trying the cable ski popped into my head...
Against my better judgement, I suggested going in the late afternoon, around 2+...cos I know for certain that I will be a total grouch if I wake up too early on sat and that going around 12-1 is no joke due to the mid-day sun....while walking along ECP, there was no wind...juz warm air....and questions like "Why am I here?!?!" popped into my head....
Luckily after walking awhile, the weather cooled and it seemed like rain was imminent...we stopped to rest on one of the stony structures along the beach....maybe due to the rain / dark clouds in the distance, there was a cooling breeze and we sat there chatting and I tried to read a book...it was beginning to be an enjoyable afternoon afterall.....
Finally we decided to walk towards the cable-ski park...as SL was not interested in trying out the cable-ski....I was left undecided whether to take a go at it....i was there sitting around the area trying to make up my mind...an hour passed before I decided to take the plunge (pun intended :P)
Alas, when the cable started pulling me, I just could not stand....I'm not sure whether it is due to the fact that the pull of the cable is different from the pull of the boat or that I have not done wakeboarding for a long long time that I could not stand at all...after trying for almost an hour, I decided to call it a day....exhausted and muscle-aching....
Maybe I will give it another try when I find some friends who are willing to try it out with me....or maybe i will go back to the more expensive wakeboarding..... :P
This morning, as we had some time to spare.....A and I decided to take a quick spin to West Coast Park...it was scorching hot!!!! The orange juice from macDonald's was not enough to cool me...but it was quite enjoyable (except for the heat) to talk and walk at West Coast Park...dodging from one shade to another....this is a "coast park" with no coastal scenery...and we had to walk to the nearby yacht club to satisfy ourselves of some sea scenery....it was a relief to return to the air con comfort of the car....
So it seems....that I spent the first weekend of the Great Singapore Sale at parks instead of the shopping malls....
